15-year old Michael dreams of being a baker. So we head to the bakery at Wegman’s where today he will learn how to bake and decorate a cake.

The first order of business is an apron. Then the official hat and it's time to start. Julia from Wegman’s helps us out.

With the cake out of the oven and the icing whipped and ready to go, Michael begins his colorful creation.

He chooses Iron Man for the centerpiece. Then he squeezes bag after bag of icing on top of his cake.

Then he reaches in, grabs a handful of sprinkles and dresses it all up. Streamers around the edges give it a final touch. Then it's time to taste the final product.

And there it is. It looks good and it gets a thumb’s up. I think Michael would agree the best part of decorating the cake is eating it.

Michael boxes up his cake and says all that work made him hungry. We grab a bite to eat, then sit and talk about his future and hopes of having a forever family.

Michael’s case worker Erin says a forever family is just what he needs to nurture and care for him.

“Michael has an outgoing personality he is somewhat shy when you first meet him but once you get to know him he is a bundle of energy laughs,” said Erin.
